lugar azul
The solitude that we were all pushed to during the pandemic, opened up many doors for personal transformation.
I had the big privilege of spending most of this period in Nature, studying plants and singing the kumbaya with my hippie tribe. I also used this time to start learning how to play guitar, from YouTube tutorials, to accompany the songs that I kept receiving from the beauty around me.
However, I missed my family and having a home with a proper space to paint…
The global pandemic shook many of my beliefs. From one side I was surrounded by conspiracy theories while, on the other hand, witnessing how hard it was to put in place political and humanitarian systems to face the global challenge.
I was raised in a very corporative and political environment, as my mom worked for the Portuguese government since I was born. For most of her career, she was part of a technical team that studied and implemented systems to modernize our country, particularly the health system.
For all these reasons, I felt the need of finding a base somewhere where I could be close to nature, but also to my family and to people from the tech and science fields.
I was born in Ericeira and always knew that, at some point in my life, I would return to settle there — it seemed the right time.
The real estate market in this area of Portugal has been super saturated, so it took me about 1 year to find my house. During that period I painted this one, which is named “Blue Place”.
